The column of the horizontal machining center is taken as the object of study. The finite ele- ment model is established taking advantage of ANSYS Workbench. The static and dynamic characters a- nalysis is performed based on this model. The weakness of initial design was found through the research of analysis results. It is the mass of the column that has hinder its performance improving. Parameter sen- sitivity analysis was carried out, and sensitivity dimensions which affected the target variable greatly were chosen to be as the design variables. The light weight design procedure has the sensitivity dimensions as parameters, the mass as the goal, and the maximum deflection and first-order natural frequency as the constraint conditions. The mass of the column was reduced observably with the same stiffness and natural frequency and the purpose of the lightweight design was achieved.以卧式加工中心立柱为研究对象,首先利用ANSYSWorkbench平台构建其有限元模型,并对其进行静动态特性分析j研究分析结果发现立柱过大的质量将影响其整体性能的提升,是原设计的薄弱环节。然后对模型结构尺寸进行了灵敏度分析,得到对立柱性能影响较大的灵敏尺寸,并将其设置为最终优化设计变量。最后以灵敏尺寸作为优化参数、立柱质量作为优化目标、最大变形量和一阶固有频率作为约束条件对立柱进行了轻量化设计,在保证立柱刚度及固有频率的基础上显著地减小了立柱的质量,达到了轻量化设计的目的。
