Finite element model updating based on modal frequency and efective modal massZHANG Bao-qiang .CHEN Guo-ping ,GUO Qin-tao(1.Dpartment of Aeronautics,Xiamen University,Xiamen 361005,China;2.State Key Laboratory of Mechanics and Control of Mechanical Structures,N ing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics,Nanjing 210016,China;3.College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering,Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics,Nanjing 210016,China)Abstract: A new finite element model updating method was presented using modal frequency and effective modalmass as residues of objective values.The efective modal mass could not only provide a method for judging the level ofsignifcance of a vibration mode in a structural dynamic analysis,but also provide more useful information for modelupdating.The process of model updating based on sensitivity analysis and the concept of effective modal mass wasintroduced,mean while the sensitivities of effective modal mass with respect to physical parameters were derived.Thesimulation results showed that al updated parameters return to the given objective values and the root mean square(RMS)errors for both the modal frequency and the effective modal mass are less than 0.4% even taking 5% Gaussian white noiseinto account for the estimated modal parameters.The study demonstrated that the finite element modal updating methodbased on modal frequency and effective modal mass is feasible and effective。

Key words:structural dynamics;model updating;effective modal mass;modal frequency;sensitivity analysis在航空、航天和机械设备等复杂工程结构的设计过程中,经常出现有限元仿真计算结果和试验所得到的测量值之间存在偏差。因此,利用试验数据修正有限元模型以得到更精确的动力学模型,然后用以响应预报为目的的有限元模型修正技术也被广泛应用于现代复杂工程结构的设计过程中。
