PURPOSE
To specify the requirements to be met by electrolytic zinc coatings applied to cast irons， carbon or
alloy steels， mainly for protection against corrosion. To establish the tests and test procedures to be
adopted， checking compliance with said requirements. To classify coating types， indicate the selection
criteria and specify drawing call–outs.
IMPORTANT
In order to comply with EC Directive 2000/53/EC and following amendment of June 27，
2002， hexavalent chromium passivation coatings of this Standard， are NOT TO BE USED
from July 01， 2006
