Single Asperities Transient Thermal Elastohydrodynamic LubricationAnalysis of Power Law Water-based Ferrofluid Journal BearingShi Xiujiang Li Shaohua Wang Youqiang(1.School of Mechanical Engineering,Qingdao Technological University,Qingdao Shandong 266033,China;2.Binzhou Institute of Technology,Binzhou Shandong 256603,China)Abstract:Based on the Reynolds equation considering the temperature,magnetic field,transient effect and power lawnon-Newtonian effect,the elastohydrodynamic lubrication analysis of water-based ferrofluid journal bearing was carried out。

The transient solutions and steady solutions were compared,and the influence of velocity and load on the pressure,filmthickness and temperature of water-based ferrofluid journal bearing was discussed.The results show that the pressure,filmthickness and temperature of water-based ferrofluid change apparently with time when considering the transient efect,SOthe steady solutions can not be used to replace with transient solutions.Local maximum pressure peak and temperaturepeak appear because of the single asperities.The single asperities is fattened,the roughness peak and the film thicknessare decreased because of the local maximum pressure peak.With the increase of velocity,the pressure peak is decreased,the film thickness and the temperature are increased.With the increase of load,the pressure peak is increased,the filmthickness is decreased and the temperature is increased。
