the paper analyzed the reason that the energy consumption is much higher than the designed one during the first period of cdu of the Huizhou refinery with twelve million ton per years. The reason mainly depend on the property deviation of feedstock, incorrect air pre-heater and energy consumption manage. The cdu unit has been revamped, changed better pre-heater, and managed energy consumption in detail, so during the second period of cdu unit the energy consumption has been decreasing obviously.
