According to GB - 150, this paper analyzed and calculated the reason of losing stability of a steel vessel of our institute with cooling water jacket suffering external pressure. The results show that the main reasons of the vessel failure suffering external pres- sure are thickness lack of vessel inner wall and overlength for the reinforce plate of the vessel. At beginning of unstability, taking ap- propriate remedial measures can prolong the application life of the vessel. The improved design was proposed.根据GB-150,分析计算了本单位的一个钢制容器外压内壁失去稳定性的原因,结果表明,该外压内壁失去稳定性的主要原因是筒壁厚度设计不足及计算长度过长。失稳初期适当的补强措施,可以延长失稳简体的使用寿命,提出了改进的设计方案。
