Estimate of minor pressure drop in flow channel ofhigh pressure multi-way valveHu Hong ,Chen Shumei ,Chen Chuanming ,Chert Hui ,Bai Yonggang(1.School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation,Fuzhou University,Fuzhou,Fujian 350108,China;2.Lonking(Fujian)Exca-vator Co.1,td.,Longyan,Fujian 364028,China)Abstract:To solve the problems,such as large pressure drop and high energy-consuming in the flowchannels in the multi-way valve which centralizes control on multi-actuator,and the motor for righttravel is not sensitive enough etc,the hydraulic oil flow in the channel of the valve was analyzed andthe efect of the channel structure on the minor pressure drop was clarified.In doing SO,the geometrymodel of the right traveI link of the multi-way valve in an excavator was built by using Pro/E and theturbulent flow in the model was simulated by means of CFD SIMPLEC techniques.The results showedthat in addition to the pressure drop in both the main valve port and the conduit between the inlet andthe check valve,there is a signifcant pressure drop in the passage between the check valve port andthe outlet.The pressure drop is proportional to the axial length of the passage;however,it is less af-fected by the angle of the passage.The drop is inversely proportional to the eddy scale and the numberof vortex cores.The pressure drop in the multi-way valve is measured as well,and the predicted dropis consistent with the experimental observations,suggesting the findings based on the analyzed resultsare reliable。
